Simpay has joined forces with Philabundance's 'Feeding American Network' of community volunteer opportunities.

Simpay's Charitable Partnership

Simpay is working with Philabundance, the Delaware Valley’s largest hunger relief organization, rescuing and distributing food to help feed those in need and advocating for policies that increase food access. 

Philabundance is the Delaware Valley’s largest hunger relief organization, serving more than 90,000 people each week in nine counties in PA and Southern NJ. Of those served, 30 percent are children, 16 percent are seniors, and adults served include college students, families and the working class. Philabundance rescues, purchases and accepts donated food, and distributed 25 million pounds in 2017 through its own programs and a network of 350 partner agencies; about 70% of the food distributed was rescued.

In 2023, Simpay team members selected Philabundance for our annual “Give Back” campaign because their work directly impacts folks in need in our area. Volunteering Locally with Philabundance

Philabundance relies on volunteer support. They run several shifts per week from their South Philadelphia location. They also have unique volunteer opportunities through their Philabundance Community Kitchen (PCK). 

There is morning, afternoon and some weekend (for larger groups) volunteer shifts, and Philabundance can accommodate up to 15 people.

Volunteering Remotely with Feeding America Network

For those who are not local to Philadelphia, there are still opportunities to get involved and make a difference through the Feeding America Network, of which Philabundance is a proud member.

By visiting Feeding America, Simpayans around the country can discover ways to volunteer, donate, or support the fight against hunger in their own communities. Whether it's participating in virtual food drives, organizing fundraising events, or spreading awareness online, everyone has the chance to contribute to this important cause no matter where they are located.

Joining forces with Feeding America allows individuals to be part of a nationwide effort to end hunger and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
